GO Student Library Funds: 2008 SB 333 CAPITAL PROJECTS G.O. BOND ACT
The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) is pleased to announce that new funds are available for New Mexico’s public, charter, and juvenile justice school libraries for the 2009-2010 through the 2011-2012 School Years.
Senate Bill 333, 2008, (page 37 line 15-25 and page 38 lines 1-5) makes an appropriation to: fund all public, charter and juvenile justice schools $3,000 for public school library improvement or acquisition per school and to acquire library books, equipment, and library resources for public school and state-supported school libraries statewide. The funds are available for distribution based on a formula per library and per student–based membership. Code number for this distribution is: 27105.
Eligibility: All public, charter and juvenile-justice schools.
Use of funds: The funds must be used to fund each library facility $3,000 for improvement or acquisition and to acquire library books and library resources to support the library program. Funds generated by GO Bonds may not be used to supplant existing or prior library material funding within school districts receiving these monies. This funding will supplement and be in addition to current and existing funding.
Fund distribution: Each school, including public, charter and state supported schools, will receive $3,000 for improvement or acquisition of each library facility and $1.53 per student allocation. Final request for reimbursement must be submitted no later than May 15, 2012. The expenditure of Fund Code 27105, GO Student Library Fund – Laws of 2008, will now be managed electronically through the OBMS system, with a new Certification Page.

- Draw Request Form (DFA required)
- Detailed Purchase Transaction Activity Report
- Library Go Bond Certification Form with signatures
We encourage each school/district to close out funds from Fund Code 27170 before beginning expenditures in the new Fund Code 27105. Expenditure of the 27170 Fund Code, SB 301 GO Bond, is a three-year, prior year fund that will close June 30, 2010. Because it is prior year, all paper-work must continue to be submitted the same way it has been.
