Requests for Funding of Summer Institutes
for Math and Science Teachers in FY2011
The Math and Science Bureau of the New Mexico Public Education Department is soliciting Requests for Funding of Summer Institutes for Math and Science Teachers in FY 2011.
These funds are to be used for professional development activities for K-12 science or math teachers.
Attached are Guidelines for the Requests for Funding.
Funding can be awarded to public entities (e.g., school, university, community college, state museum, other NM agency) through Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs).
501(c)3s can be awarded up to $50,000 through Professional Services Contract (PSC) or as an IGA in collaboration with a “public entity”.
All Requests must be for programs that will be completed by June 30, 2011 with funding expected to begin on or around July 1, 2010.
Requests must be received by the Math and Science Bureau by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010. You may send your request by email, fax, US Mail or hand delivery. Tentative awards will be made by June 18, 2010 with agreements expected to be finalized by July 1, 2010. A complete Request for Funding will include:
- Cover Sheet
- Narrative (Statement of Need, Program Description, Personnel, Management Plan, Evaluation Plan) not to exceed 5 single- spaced pages
- 1-page Statement of Work (attached as Exhibit A)
- 1-page budget (attached as Exhibit B), and
- District/School Letter(s) of Commitment
