Assessment Information Update Corner

Welcome to the PED Assessment Bureau’s new Information Update corner. The Assessment Bureau will post a series of informational documents about the assessment system. The documents will be in PDF format for ease of use.

The first documents are the Assessment Frameworks which are alternate versions of the intact, original Content Standards, Benchmarks, and Performance Standards that have been sorted by content area and by grade and textually edited to show which Performance Standards are eligible for inclusion on the state assessment and which full or partial performance standards statements cannot be measured using a paper-and-pencil test. The Strands, Standards, Benchmarks, and Performance Standards printed in BOLD text are eligible for inclusion on the state assessment. Those Performance Standard statements, or portions of Performance Standards statements, that are not assessable using paper-and-pencil tests are italicized.  It is important to remember that the standards or portions of standards that are not covered by the state assessment will still need to be taught and assessed, at either the classroom or district level.
The Assessment Maps show the percentage of coverage each benchmark contributes to the total coverage of each subtest, the number of items on each subtest, and the proportions of multiple-choice and open-ended items on each subtest.
