Reporting Procedures |
School districts are required to report all school bus related
traffic accidents, including activity buses to the School Transportation Unit (STU) within
one week (7 calendar days) of any accident. Accidents involving activity vehicles (other
than school buses) must be reported to the STU. Those accidents that result in injury must
be reported to the STU immediately. A written report must be submitted with 7 calendar
days. Other accidents involving any injury to students while walking to-and-from school
must be reported to the STU immediately and a written report must be submitted within 7
calendar days.
Any accident involving a fatality, injury or mechanical failure must be
reported immediately.
