The School and Family Support Bureau believes that ALL students can become successful and responsible individuals who value and choose an active and healthy lifestyle. Through leadership and teamwork we advocate and provide support for schools and families to implement coordinated school health programs.
Healthy
Kids Make Better Students. Better Students Make Healthier
Communities.
Through intra-inter agency collaboration, the Bureau works to promote healthier schools by providing support and resources to LEAs. This coordination along with technical assistance, enables schools to develop and implement instructional programs designed to improve instruction and increase student learning. This coordinated approach to school health provides a framework for linking health and education which is based on the philosophy that “healthy kids make better students and better students make healthier communities”.
