Not necessarily. For the TESOL endorsement, you are required to have earned a minimum of 24 semester hours to include course work in the competency areas of: ESL methodology, bilingual methodology, English linguistics, English grammar, assessment, cultural anthropology and up to 6 semester hours in a modern, classical and native language OR pass the Content Knowledge Assessment for TESOL. For the bilingual endorsement, the 24 semester hours must include course work in the competency areas of: bilingual methodology, ESL methodology, linguistics, assessment, cultural anthropology, parent community involvement and up to 12 semester hours in a modern, classical and native language and pass Prueba de Español para Certificación Bilingüe.
