  • How would I research and apply for employment opportunities with the New Mexico Public Education Department?

The New Mexico State Personnel Office (SPO) recruits for all New Mexico state agencies. Job openings are updated daily. You can apply for jobs online at http://www.spo.state.nm.us/. Please be aware that the state of New Mexico is presently under a hiring freeze and the jobs currently advertised on the SPO website have received an exemption to this hiring freeze and are available for application.

  • Does New Mexico have a website that lists vacancies in local school districts?

Yes. The New Mexico Regional Applicant Program, which can be accessed by clicking www.nmreap.net, lists positions available within our 89 school districts. It is maintained by Cooperative Educational Services (CES).

Once you are on their website, select the “Fast Track Menu” and click on the option of your choice. 

You could also contact the district you are interested in working for directly.  All 89 districts and their contact information are in the NM Educational Personnel Directory located on our website.
