PED Hosts Conference To Revitalize
Educational Plans for Student Success
( Santa Fe, NM)— May 5 th and 6 th, 2005 the Priority Schools
Bureau of the Public Education Department will be sponsoring a technical
assistance conference entitled, “All Kids Can.” The aim
of the conference is to align districts and schools with the State
requirements for educational plans for student success (EPSS) and overall
district strategic plans. All superintendents as well as principals
at schools in need of improvement will attend.
Secretary Veronica C. García said, “The educational
plan for student success (EPSS) is an important strategic planning
tool designed to focus the work of the district and provide guidance
for their schools. In order to close the achievement gap in New Mexico,
we must ensure that we are focused on continuous improvement and that
we are utilizing the EPSS to implement and evaluate strategies that
meet the holistic needs of students while maintaining rigor in the
classroom.”
The theme of the conference “All Kids Can” will permeate
all the planned activities. Highlights of the conference include:
